Business class on Air France from JFK to CDG to FCO.

How was your overall experience during the trip?:

Rome was HOT in August! Each day there was 100+ degrees F. Waiting for public transit was not an option for us.

What were the highlights of your journey? :

The Borghese Gallery was small but packed with incredible art! The Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica are awe-inspiring. The Waldorf was LOVELY. It was a perfect escape from the bustle of the city.

Did everything go smoothly, or were there any challenges you faced during the trip?:

My purse was stolen with our passports in it! The US Embassy was able to get us emergency passports the next day. Make photocopies of all your important docs before you travel.

What surprised you the most about the destination you visited?:

I was not prepared for the heat.

Is there anything you would have done differently or any recommendations you have for future travelers to that destination?:

If you use tracking devices for your items, pay for the Premium subscription before you travel! Book refundable train and ferry travel closer to the time you will board so that if you must reschedule you can.
